Back to School Favorites. Summer is almost over and before you know it, the school year will be here. I always loved going back to school shopping. There was nothing better than picking out my new Hello Kitty pencils, a new Snoopy lunch box and of course lots of new Esprit clothes. I would spend endless hours planning what I was going to wear each day during that first week of school, right down to the perfect shoes, socks and matching ribbon barrettes for every outfit.
Anyhow, it is time to start shopping for school supplies. Target has a cool promotion right now – Back to College – Spend $50, Get Free Shipping on over 100,000 Items.

Back to school means carpool time for many moms. Treat yourself to a fabulous new family car so you have some place for all the kiddies and gear. I am not part of any carpool, I only have one child, we don’t have any pets and I know they are gas guzzlers, but I could sure use a new Range Rover…

PlanetBox is the creation of a cool husband and wife team out of Marin County, California (they are friends of mine from Stanford too!). Just think of all of the plastic baggies you’ll save. SoYoung Mother and LunchBots also makes super cute and functional lunch boxes.

Get yourself a large calendar to hang on the wall so everyone in the family will know exactly where they are supposed to be.

Not everyone wants a basic backpack. Messenger bags are a great alternative and are a perfect way to carry a laptop and books. These also make great gifts for college bound teenagers.
