Education. There are so many ways to reach out and help improve the quality of education that our children are receiving. Whether you reach out to an individual student,  help a single classroom, bring changes to a school district, or work on a national or international level, you can make a difference.

NewSchools Venture Fund

“NewSchools Venture Fund is a national nonprofit venture philanthropy firm that seeks to transform public education; particularly for underserved students by supporting education entrepreneurs and connecting their work to systems change.”

DonorsChoose

First Graduate

“First Graduate is committed to helping young people finish high school and become the first in their family to graduate from college. They make a 10-year commitment to each student – starting with them the summer after 6th grade to college graduation. Through academic support, mentoring, high school and college counseling, family engagement, and college support, the students are exposed to experiences and challenges that encourage them to develop the decision-making skills, leadership ability and good judgment necessary to become successful adults.”

Reading Partners

“Reading Partners is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering students through literacy and investing community members in underserved public schools.”

Kits for Kidz

“The goal of the Kits for KidzTM Program is to provide these less fortunate children the necessary supplies they need so that they are equipped to receive what they so desperately need – an education.”

ClassWish

“ClassWish, a nonprofit, makes it easy for teachers and schools to create Wish Lists of the supplies they need for students to excel. Parents and others in the community see exactly what is needed and contribute online. Together, we can make a powerful difference in our children’s lives.”

Eastside College Preparatory School

Eastside, located in East Palo Alto, California, is “committed to opening new doors for students historically underrepresented in higher education. Their challenging and engaging curriculum enables students to discover their intellectual strengths, sharpen their academic skills, and embrace new opportunities in a culture of learning that supports the potential of every student to enter and succeed in a four-year college and beyond. Eastside students who are the first in their families to go to college create a ripple effect, changing their own lives, the lives of their families, and the life of their community.”

VH1 Save The Music Foundation

“The VH1 Save The Music Foundation provides a unique service in its efforts to improve the current state of education. The Foundation works directly to support only music education programs and does not provide any money to the school or school district. Instead, The Foundation provides complete band, string, keyboard, or guitar programs to benefiting schools. It is our belief that by providing instruments and not funding, our contribution will be used for its intended purpose: the restoration of public school music programs.”

Give a connected laptop to help improve education for the world’s children.

Mural Music & Arts Project

The MMAP program has enabled the teen artists to research, plan, and install over 30 inspirational murals at 12 local public schools with themes of community, cooperation, and local history. Current programs also include arts education, Hip Hop history and production, and public art consulting.

Blackhorse Pride

“Blackhorse Pride is a Native led and community initiated non-profit organization dedicated to instilling pride in Native youth by helping them reaffirm their cultural heritage as a basis for fulfilling their dreams and potential. These programs are based on the belief that if Native youth have a strong sense of tribal identity that is grounded in their cultural heritage, they will be more self-confident. With self-confidence they will do better academically and will be more likely to graduate from high school and go on to attend college.”
