eBags Savvy Laptop Tote
This practical comes in lots of cute colors (shown here in chili and you have to see it in eggplant) and it’s only $40! Sometimes you want a bag that is a little less expensive and just sort of fun. I found that eBags has a good selection of well priced bags in all sorts of styles to suit just about anyone.

Shopping for a New Work Tote – Tips & Suggestions
When you are looking to buy a new bag for work there are a number of things to consider. With all the cute bags out there, it is good to really know what your needs are so you make the right choice. Here are some tips to consider:
1) What do you want to carry in the bag? Measure your laptop if you want to be able to carry it and don’t forget about extra space for the power cord. Do you have a lot of paperwork that you need to carry to and from the office? Do you want to be able to tuck in an extra pair of shoes. Make out a list, or better yet, put everything in a pile so you really know how big of a work bag you will need.
If you have a lot of stuff to lug around, think about if a bag with wheels is ultimately what you need. They may not be as fashionable, but at the end of the day, your back and health are more important. At my last job I had two bags – one just for my computer and paperwork that I used to get me to and from the office and a separate bag that I used to bring selected items to meetings. Nobody had to see my roller bag except for the security guards at the front desk.
2) Color and design. Do you want to go with a basic black bag or do you want to make a statement with a bold color or funky pattern? Just make sure your work bag is appropriate for your office environment.
3) Will you be taking your bag to meetings and events? If you will actually be taking your work tote into meetings or work events, you will want it to look professional or appropriate for your line of work. I have worked at some companies where I only used the bag when I was going to and leaving the office. If a lot of people are going to see you bag, you make think about what sort of statement your bag is making. If you will be taking your bag to meet clients or potential customers, you want it to look great.
4) How much do you want to spend? Are you ready to make an investment and a commitment to a designer work bag that you will carry season after season, for a few years or do you want a bag that you can carry for the next few months? If you find a great basic bag, it might be worth splurging.
5) Do you really need a laptop sleeve? My short answer would be yes. Computers are expensive and it is always a good idea to give them a little extra protection with a laptop sleeve. It certainly can’t hurt. The most important thing to do is to measure your laptop to see what size you need. You don’t want to order a cute laptop sleeve that is too small. Typical sizes are 13, 15 and 17 inches.
6) Tote vs. Messenger Bag? Do you want to be able to carry your work bag over your shoulder? I usually call this feature ‘hands-free shopping’. Sometimes it is nice to be able to slip your bag over your shoulder and go, and have your hands free for keys or kids lunch boxes. There are times when I just don’t want all of the straps and want something more elegant like a classic tote so I often switch between the two. So many things to consider when picking out the perfect work bag!
