Salvatore Ferragamo Shoe Jewelry

Sunday, April 14th, 2013

How fabulous is this Salvatore Farragamo shoe charm? I must have one. It is from their Miniature Precious Collection and is made of 18k gold and gemstones. Believe it or not, but this iconic rainbow shoe was created way back in 1938 for Judy Garland. I have had a postcard of this famous shoe in my office for years and I just love the idea of being able to wear it around my neck.  There are a number of other great shoes in the jewelry collection including these three below. Perfect gifts for shoe loving girls who have everything…

Every girl out there seems to want to get her hands on a little celebrity style. Guess what? It is really really easy to do. And affordable too!  Stella & Dot continues to take Hollywood by storm with celebrities and editors adoring Stella & Dot’s boutique style jewelry and accessories line. Pictured above are two of my favorite actresses – super cool January Jones and 90210 alum Jennie Garth – both who are wearing Stella & Dot jewelry.  In addition, Elizabeth Banks, an actress, producer and director, has been spotted wearing the Stella & Dot Medina Bib Necklace on multiple occasions! Add this necklace to a summer dress or with a shirt and jeans. Radio darling, Carly Rae Jepsen was seen accessorizing with the Spring Awakening Necklace (love the color combo!) while posing with Seventeen magazine. You can check out tons of celebrities wearing Stella & Dot to get some chic ideas how to incorporate various pieces into your own wardrobe.  Be your own celebrity and flaunt Stella & Dot’s couture style. Happy Accessorizing!

Style Tips from Anya Sarre

Creating a Trendy Look on a Budget in 2013 by Anya Sarre

The coming year can be just as much fun as you are willing to make it. Great fashion is essential, but filling out your wardrobe with trendy separates and accessories may look challenging if you have a restricted budget. Be strategic as you plan your fashion steps this year. Make every fashion dollar count by making the most of your existing clothing and accessory items. Shop carefully as you follow the trends closely.

The benefit of online retail is obvious when it comes to knowing what styles will be at the forefront. If you don’t have a lot of money to spend on new trends, though, this can be discouraging. Don’t fret. Rather, start with contemporary favorites like StyleMint and ShoeDazzle to see what’s being stocked, what’s being put on clearance, and what’s sold out. Check out Stella & Dot and Birchbox for accessory, beauty, and jewelry ideas.

In store inspiration is important as well. A bright color may be popular, but trying it with your complexion will tell whether it’s meant for you. Handle textures and try different separates to get a sense of what works for you. Make notes as you explore. You know your existing wardrobe well enough to know how new components will mix and match. You can try things on to your heart’s content. This will give you a sense of what to buy when the funds are available. Forever 21 is one of the best spots for discovering great options at affordable prices. Old Navy is a favorite of young adults. H&M is another great stop to include in your exploration.

You may be intimidated by the DIY fashion craze. Pinterest may change your mind and revamp your wardrobe. Look for fantastic ideas for making your own shawls, scarves, skirts and bags. Find creative jewelry projects and materials. Don’t miss examples of cute outfits. Nearly every member seems to have a fashion wish list pinned. Whether you want to know what your favorite celebrities are adding to their closets or whether you need some color inspiration, you can track down unique options and pin your favorites.

The new fashion year isn’t always predictable, especially if finances make it tough to shop for yourself. Do your research so that you know what pieces will effectively work for you. Spend strategically, being willing to create your own accessories and separates.

leons of beverly hills

Did you get a chance to watch the SAG Awards and the Golden Globes? Are you as excited as I am for the Academy Awards? My favorite thing about all of these awards shows is the spectacular celebrity jewelry. It is hard to see the fabulous shoes that are hidden under the ball gowns (which is such a major bummer) but the sparkling diamonds and precious stones worn by all of our favorite stars always seem to be the hit of the red carpet. In fact, I think we all deserve a little red carpet bling of our own…

leon's of beverly hills

I was recently introduced to Leon’s of Beverly Hills and they have lots of amazing jewelry pieces to choose from. World-renowned jewelry expert Leon Haytayan has been an innovator in jewelry design and has been creating unique treasures since 1970. Leon personally hand crafts every piece of jewelry he sells so that each one is like a unique work of art. A number of celebrities have worn his pieces and so can we.

Now getting back to the red carpet… I love the bold and beautiful celebrity rings that so many of the actresses are wearing. I think a sparkly statement ring can really add so much to a look. It is hard to tell on television, but the rings those women are wearing on their fingers are absolutely exquisite. I know most people look at the necklaces or the chandelier earrings, but keep an eye out for gorgeous rings adorning the manicured fingers of your favorite celebrities this awards season. Wouldn’t you love to wear one of these sparklers while you are on the couch watching the Academy Awards this year….You deserve it!

Special thanks to Leon’s of Beverly Hills for supporting Sweet Peas & Stilettos. I appreciate it!

Prada Leather Studded Wedges

Saturday, December 29th, 2012

Looking for a pair of new shoes to ring in the holidays? Look no further… These Prada Studded Saffiano Metallic Leather Wedge Sandals are nothing short of awesome. Little disco balls for your feet and with the comfortable wedge you can wear them all day and night. I can’t think of a better way to ring in the new year.

Hop on over to Saks Fifth Avenue, watch the video and drool…..

My new obsession….Shwings! How cool are these little wings that you can add to your shoes? I actually bought these gold ones for myself and as soon as my son saw them he insisted that we put them on his shoes instead. Considering he shares a name with an Olympic gold medalist who was once the fastest man alive, it is probably appropriate that he has wings on his shoes.

Shwings are available in a whole array of colors for both lace up shoes and the ‘slot’ style for velcro shoes. They look just as cool on boots as they do on sneakers. Great for gifts and stocking stuffers too! You can order them directly from the Shwings website, Amazon, or check for local retailers.

Layla Grace Relaunched

Friday, November 9th, 2012

One of my favorite online shopping destinations has just gotten a little facelift & tummy tuck of sorts, just in time for the holidays. Layla Grace is a fabulous place to shop for holiday gifts and also happens to be a great place to pick up little treasures for yourself. Layla Grayce recently launched their newly redesigned website so now it is better than ever. They’ve added some new bells and whistles like customer reviews and a brand new design board, where you can mix and match different products and perfect your look before you purchase. You simply drag the product over to this little widget on the side of the screen. You can also create your own ‘I love this’ list which comes in super handy when you are picking out Christmas presents.  Luckily they have kept their great mix of products in every price range – from furniture & decor to table top, baby items, personalized gifts and more. Be sure to visit the newly designed Layla Grayce website today and get a head start on your holiday shopping.

Shoe Dazzle

Shoe Dazzle is not just about shoes anymore. Shoe Dazzle has become a favorite shopping destination for women everywhere. It is all about fun, trendy, incredibly affordable accessories and fashion. When you need to add a little sass and sizzle to your mommy wardrobe and unleash you inner Kim Kardashian – this is the place for you. Everything is so affordable too! I love love love this chic black tote above. And guess how much it is? Believe it or not it is only $39!  Holy cow.

Yep – they even have iPad cases, just like this shiny silver faux snakeskin case. What a fun gift idea for a girlfriend or for yourself.

And yes – Shoe Dazzle still has shoes. From stilettos to wedges and a growing collection of booties and boots – your feet will love this place. These cool Splendid Moto boots were one of my favorites.

If you have a hard time deciding what to buy, you can use the Shoe Dazzle personalized stylist to help you out. They will pull together everything you need to complete your outfit. And for a limited time, you can buy two for the price of one on select styles. Happy shopping!

I was out shopping this weekend and popped into one of my favorite store in Los Gatos, She She Shoes. Up at the counter was the most glorious combination of colors. I have always been a fan of bold, colorful necklaces, but this collection of jewelry was so much more. The girls in the shop introduced me to Chewbeads and told me they have ben flying off the shelves. I can understand why!

Chewbeads are “mommy chic, baby safe, fashionable teething jewelry.” All of the colorful beads and great bracelets are made of silicon (the same material that most pacifiers are made from) and they are completely free of BPA, PVC, phthalates, lead and any other yucky stuff. They are soft enough so your baby will love chewing on them and then you can just clean them with gentle soap and water. They are brilliant!

I was piling on a few of the necklaces together and they are just adorable. They come in a rainbow of colors so it becomes really hard to pick a favorite. They also come in black and grey (two of my staple wardrobe colors) and look incredibly modern and cool. There was this really simple black cuff that I need to buy. I know it will look so cool paired with some gold bangles.

Without a doubt, these are my go to gifts for moms and moms-to-be. In fact, you don’t need a baby to wear Chewbeads. They are simply wonderful lightweight necklaces you will wear over and over again. Love them!!

Go for the Gold

In Lieu of an Olympic Gold Medal…

There has never been a better time to break out some gorgeous gold jewelry.  Vita Fede’s gorgeous Anneli Bracelet reminds me of the Olympic rings and their modern gold Fiero Ring looks like you are carrying the torch on your finger. Vita Fede translates to ‘Life’ and ‘Faith’, two things that connect people everywhere – just like the Olympic Games.

For your own gold medal look, shop Stella & Dot. They have such a wonderful selection of affordable gold jewelry. Wear an On the Mark Gold Arrow Necklace, a gold chuncky La Coco Curb Chain Necklace, or a gold Rebel Pendant you will look and feel like a winner (even if you are just sitting on the couch watching the Olympics on TV and not flipping and tumbling on the gymnastics mat with a billion people watching you….)
